meat boxes & individual items

Meat Boxes & Individual Items within them are in general perishable and by their nature have a short expiry date, your statutory right to withdraw purchases within the seven working day ‘cooling-off’ period does not apply to these items.

The meat boxes & individual items photographed contain only items listed. This means some items may vary according to availability and props used in the photography are not included in the meat boxes unless stated in the meat box listing. We may also at times show slightly different packaging in the meat box contents listing to that of the actual meat box contents.

substitution items

We fully expect to fulfil all orders placed. However, if we are unable to fulfil an order in whole or in part, we reserves the right to substitute any item with an item of equal or greater value than the original, or issue a refund for the product. This is applicable for meat boxes and individual items

descriptions of products

We have made every effort to display the details, colours and prices of items on the Website as accurately as possible. Errors and omissions are excluded. We may from time to time vary the dimensions, specifications, descriptions and quantities of items displayed on our Website without prior notice.

Delivery charge is an additional cost unless otherwise stated. Please refer to our Delivery Information for full details. Although we try to ensure that all prices on the Website are accurate, errors may occur. If we discover an error in the price of items you have ordered, we will contact you as soon as possible. You will have the option of either reconfirming your order at the correct price or cancelling it. If we are unable to contact you, we will treat your order in respect of the incorrectly priced item as cancelled.

We reserve the right to update prices displayed on the Website at any point.


Products are invoiced in GBP sterling at the price prevailing at the time you place your order. Prices displayed on the Website include Value Added Tax where applicable which will be charged at the appropriate rate.

Once payment has been received by we will confirm that your order has been accepted by sending an email to you at the email address you provide in your order form. Our acceptance of your order brings into existence a legally binding contract between us. For business or corporate purchasers, we may, at our discretion, allow such customers to make payment after receiving an invoice from us. This may be subject to satisfactory credit references.

All items remain the property of Essenjaye Fine Foods Ltd until payment is received in full.

You are not permitted to sell and must not offer for sale or re-sell any of our products.

If we do cancel your contract we will notify you by e-mail and will re-credit to your account any sum deducted by us from your credit card as soon as possible but in any event within 30 days of your order. If you are a business or corporate purchaser but have not paid by credit card you will be refunded by cheque as soon as possible and in any event within 30 days of your order. We will not be obliged to offer any additional compensation for disappointment suffered.

We do not keep your card details. Should we need to issue a refund due to a price change or item being out of stock we will need to re-contact you to obtain your card details.

Please note that we cannot guarantee the security of data when communicating with us via email. Please do not send us payment information using email. Unless we are fraudulent or negligent we will not be liable to you for any losses caused as a result of unauthorised access to the personal and transactional information you provide us with when placing an order.

If you have a published Andrew James Butchery promotion code, please note that offers cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers and only one offer per household may apply.


As all products have a short shelf life, any cancellation needs to be made within 24 hours or prior to dispatch whichever is the earlier. Customers with subscription boxes only need to let us know within a week of their next scheduled delivery

We currently only deliver to the UK mainland (excluding the Channel Isles and Isle of Man).


We will be responsible for any losses you suffer as a direct result of us breaching these Terms and Conditions if those losses were reasonably foreseeable to both you and us at the time the contract for the sale of items by us to you was formed.

We will not be responsible to you or any third party for any business loss (including loss of revenue, profits, contracts, anticipated savings, wasted expenditure, data or goodwill) or any other loss or damage which does not result directly from our actions or the actions of our sub-contractors or agents, is consequential or was not reasonably foreseeable to both you and us when the contract between us was formed.

Our liability to you under these Terms and Conditions will not exceed the total price charged for the items purchased. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes our liability to you for personal injury or death caused by our negligence.

We will not be responsible to you for any delay or failure to comply with our obligations under these Terms and Conditions if the delay or failure arises from any cause beyond our reasonable control.

Andrew James Butchery make every effort to ensure a consistently high level of customer care. However, we do take complaints very seriously and have strict procedures to ensure that they are dealt with fairly and effectively.   • the order number
  • a full description of goods which are the subject of the complaint. Please make this as informative as possible.
  • a contact name and telephone number and/or e-mail address.

We will endeavour to respond to your complaint within a maximum of 2 working days, providing a resolution to the complaint, or at the very least a timescale for such resolution, in which case you will of course be kept fully informed of progress. All complaints will be kept strictly confidential.
